This is a great battery. We have tried knock-off brand batteries that are cheaper, and they will not last like a branded Canon battery. We had one that took about 50 photos before needing to be charged again - Something that is unacceptable in our business. Stick with the true Canon batteries, and you will nto be disappointed!

This is my second CANON digital camera and they work great and also are very reliable and handy at the same time. The most important part is that through Amazaon I got it at the lowest price after shopping around different stores.

I’m glad that I spent my money in this unit and at least in my case it was worth it!!!

Customer Review: By far the best Point-and-Shoot I’ve found
I have an undergraduate and graduate degree in photography - but I don’t do a lot with it. In fact, I’ve pretty much taken a hiatus for about 12 years from shooting photography as an art form - except for one series of projects about two years ago that I did using my camera phone.

One reason I’ve held off for the past few years is that I’ve been waiting for a camera with the characteristics of the SD990IS. I wanted a point and shoot camera that would fit in a pocket, that was >14MP (with fantastic image quality) and that would have long battery life.

And that’s what this camera is - it has met and exceeded every expectation. While the lense is a bit limited - and not what you’d want in an SLR - that’s not what I wanted. I’ve been taking photographs in the mountains while skiing, assembling them into massive panoramas and having them printed in very large format. And the quality of these images is stunning.

I bought this camera in early December. I’ve charged the battery twice, despite frequent usage. I bought a 16 GB SD card, and it’s been nice not to have to worry about running out of storage.

I highly recommend this camera!

The SD890IS is my fourth Cannon digital. I am particularly pleased. I am testing it on a three week ski trip. Features such as “Snow” and Anti- Shake work better than expected. I have used the “Continuous” for recording fast moving skiing with very nice results. I have created several impressive “Stitched” mountain panorama.
Only short fall is camera surface is very slick and hard to handle with cold fingers. A textured surface would be a big improvement.

We are very happy that we again choose Canon.
